FOR QUALIFICATION REQUEST FOR INFORMATION AND COMMENT ON THE DRAFT REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATION AND PROPOSALS FOR NEW GENERATION CAPACITY UNDER THE SMALL PROJECTS IPP PROCUREMENT PROGRAMME

The Department of Energy ("the Department") intends to procure up to 100MW of electricity from renewable energy generation adopting any of onshore wind, solar photovoltaic, biomass, biogas, or landfill gas technologies with a generation capacity of not less than 1MW and not more than 5MW under the Small Projects IPP Procurement Programme. The Department formally invites potential developers of energy projects adopting any of onshore wind, solar photovoltaic, biomass, biogas, or landfill gas technologies with a generation capacity of not less than 1MW and not more than 5MW to provide information in relation to the progress and readiness of their individual projects and formally invites interested parties to provide comments on the draft Request for Qualification and Proposals ("RFP") that the Department has prepared for the Small Projects IPP Procurement Programme.

Potential developers and interested parties wishing to respond to the Request for Information and Comment on the draft RFP (RFI) will be required to complete an online registration form prior to being able to download the RFI and RFP documents from ipp-smallprojects.co.za The RFI and RFP documents will be available for download from 9h00 on 20 June 2012 . Please note that the RFI and RFP will only be provided in pdf format. Response to the RFI should be submitted via email to the Department in MS-Word format to [email protected] by no later than 17 July 2012
